Steinberg today updated the unique plug-in for drum resynthesis and sound design, BackBone, to version 1.6.20 for Windows. Besides general improved audio processing capabilities, special attention has been paid to how sounds can be layered and processed. Now BackBone is a fully qualified Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit) application and its user can take advantage of all of its features in the most current music production environments. Creating custom drum sounds from samples has never been easier. Up to 16 audio samples can be combined and then resynthesized, individual waveforms can be processed and edited down to the last detail, and dedicated sample manipulation tools allow for optimized manipulation of sounds. For producing and editing Electronic music, creating drum kits, or processing and designing any other kind of audio textures, Steinberg BackBone offers a completely new approach to sound design for professional music production.
